As Weichai China V light engines were successfully showed at Shanghai International Auto Exhibition, light smart power spread the good news that Weichai Yangzhou light smart power base, which has an investment of 500 million yuan and an annual output of 100,000 units, was officially launched.
In the morning on April 23, Weichai power held the planning report and opening ceremony of light smart power base in Yangzhou. Yangzhou municipal government leaders, related leaders of Shandong Heavy Industry and Weichai Group, management team of Yaxing and Yangchai, supplier representatives and the media witnessed a new beginning of Weichai light Power.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the Executive CEO Zhang Quan. Chairman Tan Xuguang delivered a speech, he said, developing light power is one of the strategic directions of Weichai Yangtze delta, and also a strategic initiative for the group to create a full range of product lines and promote structural adjustment. Earlier this year, Weichai launched technology-leading, efficient and reliable "smart power platform", which combines the new Weichai WOS operating system, global R & D community, preferred global supply chain system and lifecycle membership exclusive services systems, achieving better integration of global resources. Perfect service network, a sound components system, strong technical support, plus Weichai nearly 70 years of experience in developing engine business and the R&D strength in the field of mid and heavy-duty engines, all these have become the solid foundation for the rapid development of Weichai light Power. Yangzhou municipal Party Secretary Xie Zhengyi expressed his appreciation to Weichai for the Yangzhou sector's contribution to Yangzhou economic development. He said Weichai light power strategy coincided with the Yangzhou dream of establishing and developing automobile industry base. Weichai integrated Yangchai and Yaxing has promoted the healthy development of the two companies. Yangzhou municipal government will actively carry out service work to promote the business development of Weichai Yangzhou sector.
Later on, Chairman Tan Xuguang and Yangzhou party secretary Xie Zhengyi, Vice Mayor Ling Jun jointly launched the crystal ball, Weichai Power Yangzhou light smart power base was officially started. As an important part of the Group's overall footprint, Yangzhou business is the major carrier for Weichai to create a full range of power and achieve transformation to the vehicle business.
Weichai vice president Tong Dehui, introduced the product planning and the current level of technology of Weichai light smart power to the participants. Weichai chief technologist Zhang Zhongxiang introduced plant construction planning process and features of light smart power. In addition, Yaxing Automobile deputy general manager Qian Dong introduced the construction progress plan of light smart power base.
Since Weichai reorganized Yangchai, the R&D resources of the two companies are deeply integrated, in particular, Yangchai, relying on the smart power platform and based on its optimized and enhanced products, has successfully completed the Group's strategic product --VM engines' localization. In September 2014, Weichai first VM high-end light engine --WP3 was put into the market. In more than six months, WP3 has been recognized by JAC, Yutong and other mainstream customers. Such main performance indicators as power, economy and emissions are better than the competitors, and actually it will lead the upgrading of domestic small-displacement multi-cylinder engines. Two days ago, at Shanghai auto show, Weichai Power held China V light engine release conference, which was attended by many big OEMs and received a good reputation of "industry-leading product."
In 2013, Weichai released Yangtze strategic objectives that by the end of 2018, the sales revenue of Yangzhou business will exceed 10 billion yuan so as to build a ten-billion manufacturing base of vehicles, engines and light engines. To start the light smart power base is an important step in implementing the strategy.
It is understood that Weichai Power plans to build light smart power plant in line with the China V, Ⅵ emission standards in Yangchai. The project covers an area of about 9.375 hectares, it plans to produce 100,000 light engines, which are widely used in various light trucks, buses, and construction machinery products. Yangzhou light smart power plant will rely on the advantages of the four systems of Weichai smart power platform, and take scientific and technological progress as the pilot, to accelerate technological innovation and give play to the comprehensive advantages in resources to produce excellent products which can bring better experience and more surprise to customers.
