The coach owner, Cheng Qingman is proud to say that, “Whether in passenger station of Jilin or Weifang, there’s not a single person who doesn’t know that my engine ran 2.5 million kilometers but somehow is still full of power. Other coach owners are always envious of me.” He told the reporter that the coach was bought in 2005, and back then he never thought that the Weichai engine could run 2.5 million kilometers without overhauls in 8 years.
Nowadays, Cheng Qingman’s coach has become the “super star” in passenger stations of Jilin and Weifang. Fellow colleagues always came to ask for advice on maintenance. When the reporter asked the accompanied driver -- Cao Zhonglin that if there are any maintenance tips, he just smiled and said that “There is no maintenance tip. The key point is that Weichai’s engine has good quality, which makes maintenance only an auxiliary factor”. He described that the coach was equipped with Weichai’s WD615 diesel engine and only water pump and compressor were replaced once when the coach hit one million kilometers, and high-pressure pump and gear once when the coach reached two million kilometers mileage. The rest of the engine almost had no problems at all.
Although this Weichai core has been running for 8 years, it is still vigorous with its performance being still unabated. Cao Zhonglin said that to reporter, “this engine has strong power and good fuel economy. It is also environment friendly and you barely see smoke from the exhaust pipe. This is even better than a lot of new engines! Actually, I wouldn’t even change this for another new engine for free”.
