From July 21 to 27, Sun Ximin, vice governor of Shandong Province, led a delegation of the Shandong Provincial government to visit Peru and Chile to promote deeper and more substantive exchanges and cooperation between Shandong Province and Latin American countries. Man Shengang, Party Secretary and Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shandong Province and Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, accompanied the delegation on the visit.
The delegation held business events such as the China (Shandong) - Peru Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference and the China (Shandong) - Chile Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference, signed economic and trade cooperation projects, widely connected with government departments, important business associations and business people of the two countries, promoted deepening multi-field practical cooperation between our province and the two countries, and helped our province build a new highland of high-level opening up to the outside world. Sun Ximin affirmed the development of provincial state-owned assets and enterprises and Shandong Heavy Industry Group's business in Latin America, and put forward higher requirements for further deepening of economic and trade cooperation.
On July 22, at the China (Shandong) - Peru Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting, Weichai signed a business cooperation agreement with Modasa Group and Sinotruk (Peru) Co., Ltd. was inaugurated.
On July 23rd, the delegation visited the bus depot of Cabar Group in Chile and inspected the pure electric buses delivered by ZTO to its clients. The delegation went to the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications of Chile for talks to learn more about the overall situation and development plans of Chile's public transportation system and to promote further cooperation between the two sides. After the event, the first batch of female drivers of Zhongtong Bus in Chile were launched, and a model of the bus key symbolizing the start of the career was handed over to two trainees of the "Female Driver Program". With its leading core technology accumulation and customized development capabilities, Zhongtong Bus has successfully won a large order of 895 new energy buses in Chile this year.
On July 24, Man Shengang presided over a special scheduling meeting on the Latin American market of Shandong Heavy Industry and listened to reports on the business development of its affiliated enterprises in Latin America. Man noted that Shandong Heavy Industry has been continuously optimizing its market layout and building a brand matrix. In the first half of this year, its export revenue to the Latin American market increased by 40 percent year-on-year. High-end products have rapidly broken through and brand influence has significantly improved. Latin America is an important strategic market for Shandong Heavy Industry's internationalization and has huge potential for growth in the future. We should adhere to high-end leadership, intensify market expansion, accelerate local layout, leverage the advantages of the group's product portfolio and business synergy, promote rapid and sustainable growth of Latin American business, actively integrate into the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and showcase the good reputation of "Made in China" and "Good products of Shandong".
