On the afternoon of November 20, 2022, Weichai released the world's first commercialized diesel engine with base engine thermal efficiency of 52.28% and natural gas engine with base engine thermal efficiency of 54.16%. Li Xiaohong, President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhong Zhihua, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Deng Xiuxin, Vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ling Wen, Vice governor of Shandong Province and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the new product launch event. On the basis of the diesel engine base engine thermal efficiency breaking 50.23% in 2020 and breaking 51.09% in January this year, Weichai once again created a new global record of 52.28%, reaching the peak of the global industry for three consecutive times. At the same time, the base engine thermal efficiency of Weichai’s natural gas engine broke through 54.16% for the first time in the world, which was also a revolutionary subversion of the internal combustion engine industry with the thermal efficiency of natural gas engine surpassing that of diesel engine for the first time and became the thermal machinery with the highest thermal efficiency.
International authoritative testing institutions TÜV SÜD Group issued test report for Weichai.
