On the afternoon of October 26, Tan Xuguang, Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, Chairman of Weichai Group, and Chairman of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, was invited to give a speech titled "Science and Technology Makes Dreams" at the Mingde Lecture Hall of Wutongyu Learning Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He used his 40 years of innovative research and practice as an example, and talked to the students about Weichai's struggling course of focusing on the main business and promoting development through technological innovation.
Facing the students, Tan Xuguang said, "friends, your buddy Tan is waiting for you there!", and gave them three tips:
• Young people must dare to create, pursue and realize dreams. "To be No.1 or nothing at all" is my life motto.
• The life of fighting is the most exciting. Happiness does not fall from the sky!
• Become a "lunatic" in the professional field. "Diesel" is in my blood.
Tan Xuguang’s wonderful speech won rounds of applause from the students. After the speech, the students scrambled to interact with Tan Xuguang.
In the same afternoon, Weichai Power and Huazhong University of Science and Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement. University Party Secretary Shao Xinyu and Tan Xuguang attended the ceremony. Vice University President Xu Xiaodong and Weichai Group Deputy CCP Committee Secretary Ma Changhai signed the agreement.
