Founded in 1949, Asiastar has been accompanying the development of China's automobile industry for more than half a century since the birth of its first bus; in the meanwhile, it has created many “first” records: the first specialized bus JT663, the first sleeper bus JT6970, the first rear chassis bus JS6970H, the single model bus JS6820 with the highest sales, the new energy bus with the best performance of fuel conservation JS6126GHEV, the best intercity bus YBL6125H and the first luxury bus passes EPA2017 emission standard exported to the USA.
Asiastar brought in the advanced technologies of vehicle R&D, production manufacturing etc.by setting up joint venture with Mercedes-Benz, laying a solid foundation for the performance and quality management of Asiastar products.
In 2011, Weichai Group conducted the strategic restructuring of Asiastar, which established a golden power assembly system and set up the unique power assembly production chain in China. All these measures made an improvement of Asiastar core competitiveness and annual sales income. Consequently, it gained revenues with increasingly dramatic boost of 996 million RMB in 2012, 3.4 billion RMB in 2016 and 3.0 billion RMB in 2017.
Asiastar has two production bases: one is in Yangzhou and the other one is in Xiamen. Yangzhou base owns the first-class bus production lines and product R&D center, covering nearly 660 thousand square meters, and the base has been put into operation since 2013. Xiamen base is located in Xiamen Free Trade Zone, and its products like high-tech new energy bus and low-emission luxury bus are exported to developed countries such as Europe, America, and Australia.
Presently, Asiastar has its sub-brands including Asiastar, Wertstar and FTBCI etc. All the products are divided into different type such as long-distance bus, school bus, top-notch tourism bus, city bus, group bus, and environmentally friendly energy-saving bus like luxury recreational vehicle and special vehicle from 5 meters to 18 meters. The buses with different functions are sold well at home and additionally exported to the overseas markets, for instance: North America, Australia, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Russia, Middle East and Africa, etc.
